Did you know that the construction sector has the highest rate of suicide among males in Australia? And that rate is six times higher than death from a site accident? Around one construction worker every two days dies from suicide.
Studies have found that nine out of 10 males who took their lives never sought professional help from organisations like Beyond Blue.
These aren’t just stats – every one of these workers had a family, friends, workmates and communities who are affected by their loss.
We think construction worker suicide rates are way too high and we want to raise awareness of organisations like Beyond Blue who can help men before it’s too late.
